February is the last month to sow many of the warm weather crops and also time to start sowing to be ready for Autumn plantings. We like to start off Brassica crops such as Kale, Broccoli, Brussels Sprouts, and Cauliflower.
We always recommend growing Land Cress 'Upland' with your Brassica crops, as it is a dead end trap for White Cabbage Moths who can’t resist laying their eggs on the leaves. When the eggs hatch, the caterpillars eat the cress leaves and are killed straight away, long before they have a chance to munch on your brassica crops! Land Cress has a strong peppery flavour and will grow all year round.
